Workplace Injury
Workers' compensation payments may be available to you should you be injured on the job,
but what if your injury is caused by someone who isn't also employed by your boss? Or at
a third party location?
You should ask your personal injury attorney to discuss any possibility of a claim against
a third party for injuries you received while working, and also whether a workers'
compensation attorney should be consulted. You may find an attorney who practices in
both areas, but make sure that he or she is truly experienced in both. Also, ask your
personal injury attorney if a workers' compensation insurer which has paid you benefits
is going to make a claim against any settlement you receive from the third party. This
is a complicated area of the law, so be selective when choosing your personal injury attorney.
